Dr. Darina Van den Bergh

How does psychotherapy work?
Our early relationships and experiences strongly shape how we go on to deal with our later life and relationships so in understanding our history we are enabled to work through difficulties in our present lives.

Identifying patterns in behaviour and relationships and adapting them, or adopting new approaches in order to acquire a deeper contentment in life.

By facilitating a deeper understanding of emotions and other mental processes, to help gain a greater insight into feelings and thought patterns, which can result in making better life choices.

Increasing awareness of how unconscious motivations can influence how we think, feel, and act can help deal with mental or emotional distress and promote self-reflection, insight, and emotional growth.

What to expect in your first session
The initial consultation will explore what brought you to therapy, examining how your past impacts your current life, and how it has led you to the place you find yourself. It will involve telling your story to facilitate us getting to know each other.
